Hello! Let me introduce myself.

I’m Not a Doctor, Nutritionist, or Scientist, Just a Curious Food-Lover Who Writes Health Like a Story.

Hi there, I’m Ijeoma, a storyteller, children’s book writer, and SEO content creator making an exciting pivot into health and wellness writing, focusing on food as medicine content.

For years, I’ve been crafting different type of stories:
SEO content that ranks, fiction novels that transport, and children’s books that delight.

However, I have zero medical training. I’ve never been to nutrition school. I don’t even have a science degree.

What I do have:

– A knack for breaking down complex information.
– Years of research experience as an SEO writer.
– A storytelling background that helps me explain things clearly
Personal experience with being overwhelmed by health advice.

Why I Started Writing About Food as Medicine?

I’ve always been mindful about what I eat because I strongly believe: Food is medicine. What we take into our bodies impacts how we look, feel, and function each day.

When I started exploring the world of health and nutrition, I noticed something frustrating:
The health industry is overflowing with incredible information, but most of it is written like a medical textbook.
Moreover, much of the advice comes in complicated medical-sounding language, often written by brands trying to sell a miracle product.

So I decided to change that.
I created this space: a simple food as a medicine blog for beginners, for people like me and you. People who want to eat better without the confusion or spending a fortune on superfoods.

My Core Beliefs About Food As Medicine:

Here’s what drives me to write about food as medicine. I believe:

– Food is medicine, but that doesn’t mean you need to have a medical degree to understand it.
– Food is medicine, but it has to be practical and familiar.
– Food doesn’t have to be fancy to be powerful.
– Healing happens in regular kitchens, not just labs.
– Health content doesn’t have to be boring, overwhelming, or full of jargon.

Additionally, I’m tired of writing about things that don’t matter to me. I spent years creating content about products I’d never use, topics i had no interest in.

But health? Food? That’s different. These topics affects all of us, every single day.

What we eat affects everything. From our energy to our mood. And most health advice out there? They’re either too complicated or trying to sell you something.

I realized I could use my writing skills to help people like me, who want to feel better but don’t have time for complicated wellness protocols or the budget for expensive superfoods.

How I Create My Food as Medicine Content: My Approach

  1. I find interesting research about food and health from popular Helath blog(usually because I’m trying to solve my own problems).
  2. I break it down into simple, actionable information that doesn’t require a science degree to understand.
  3. I test it myself when possible, because I’m not going to recommend something I wouldn’t try.
  4. I share what I learn in the most straightforward way possible, with plenty of “I don’t know” and “this is what I think” disclaimers.

Why Listen to Someone Without Medical Credentials?

This is a completely fair question.

As mentioned earlier, I have no medical background. But honestly? That’s actually my superpower!

Here’s my thinking:

– I’m asking the same questions you are: I’m literally googling “what is inflammation” right alongside you.

– I remember what it’s like to be confused: I haven’t forgotten how overwhelming and confusing those information can be.

– I’m not trying to sell you anything: I’m just sharing what I learn as I learn it, with no agenda other than helping us all feel a little better.

– I do my homework: Just because I don’t have formal training doesn’t mean I’m careless with information. I research like crazy, check multiple sources, and always include disclaimers.

What I Do (And What I Don’t Do)

Here’s what I AM:

  • A curious person who loves researching food as medicine
  • Someone who breaks down complex health information into plain English
  • Your friend who does the homework so you don’t have to
  • A storyteller who believes food should heal AND taste good

The Bottom Line

I’m not a guru, or health coach. I just want to help people make better food choices without stress.

If you’re on a similar journey – trying to eat better, feel better, and understand what the heck all these health experts are talking about – then maybe we can figure it out together.

I’ll share what I learn, you share what works (or doesn’t work) for you, and hopefully we’ll all feel a little less lost in the world of wellness advice.

Important Disclaimer

I’m not a medical professional and nothing I share should replace actual medical advice. I’m just a writer sharing what I learn about food and health.

Everything I share is for educational purposes only. Always consult with your doctor about any health concerns, and before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have health conditions or take medications.

But you probably already knew that.

P.S. – This health journey thing is messy and non-linear. Some days I eat vegetables, other days I have cereal for dinner. I’m not here to judge your choices, just to share what I’m learning along the way.

Let’s eat better, feel better, and keep it simple
